MEDICATION

PRESCRIPTIONS ARE TAKING LONGER THAN THE NORMAL 48 HOURS DUE TO A SURGE IN DEMAND – WE APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND PATIENCE IN THIS MATTER

THE PRACTICE WILL NOT ISSUE ANY EXTRA SUPPLIES OF MEDICATION AS THIS WILL CAUSE STOCK ISSUES FOR PHARMACIES AND OTHER PATIENTS

  • Paracetamol – we will not issue prescriptions for anyone who does not have it as part of their normal repeat medication regime or have had it prescribed from a doctor in the last few months
  • Ibuprofen
  • If a patient thinks they may have coronavirus (fever or new continuous cough) then the advice from the Chief Scientific Officer at the moment is that it would be sensible to avoid taking ibuprofen and use something like paracetamol instead,
  • If a patient is taking ibuprofen for other reasons such as arthritis pain and have no other symptoms (new cough or fever) then the advice is that it is probably okay to continue at the moment

ALL ADVICE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY MOMENT DUE TO THE FLUIDITY OF THE CURRENT SITUATION
